Knotty Pine Woodworks is a family run shop in Dillon, Montana. We build custom furniture, games, CNC-carved signs, and home décor from local rough-sawn pine, one board at a time. Unless, otherwise specified, like our solid maple cribbage or charcuterie boards. 

This business began back in 2014 when we decided to design and build our own log bed. We had no idea it would eventually grow into what it is now. In 2017 we became a member of the Made in MT Program and took a leap of faith, booking as many craft shows as we could. Knotty Pine Woodworks has since been a full time job for both of us. We make a great team as we typically design projects together, JR builds them, and Samantha does all of the finishing process.

Our two teenagers help out a lot more in the shop these days. When we aren't chasing them to all their activities. From harvesting logs to painting, sanding, running the machines, and sometimes even creating their own designs, it keeps us all together having fun.

We have a passion for Montana and the outdoors and try to incorporate that into everything from our large furniture to our home décor. Every piece starts as local rough-sawn, kiln dried wood. We cut, plane, carve, and stain it ourselves, so no two boards come out identical. Those streaks of blue and gold in the natural boards? That's natural color left by pine beetles. We save our most colorful boards for the pieces that show them off.

Furniture and larger items are typically custom order only. Our small shippable products are made to order and ship within 5 days of your order date, or happily delivered locally. Want your name, your town, or a favorite mountain range carved into a piece? We take custom orders for that as well, and we'll send a sample image before we start carving.
